KARACHI – Several big names from Pakistan’s entertainment industry have raised their voices against delayed payments, calling it an unfair and growing issue in showbiz.

Veteran actor Syed Mohammed Ahmed shared that artists are often forced to “beg for their own money” even months after completing their work. He urged the industry to treat actors and crew members with basic respect and professionalism.

Joining him, actor Ahmed Ali Butt said that many production houses promise payments within 60 to 90 days, but fail to deliver on time. He encouraged artists to move towards independent platforms like YouTube, where they have more control.

Actor Faizan Khawaja even announced his exit from the industry, citing years of unpaid dues and mental stress. Rising stars Ramsha Khan and Khushhal Khan also shared their frustration, calling late payments “disrespectful.”

Legendary actor Naumaan Ijaz revealed that he has millions stuck with channels, and compared the delay in payments to “receiving charity.” Actress Nadia Afgan said she only works with production teams that clear payments responsibly.

Artists and professionals are now demanding accountability, timely contracts, and fair treatment from production houses and broadcasters.

As pressure mounts on the industry, fans and followers are also backing this call for change across social media.
