ISLAMABAD – Indonesia’s Defence Minister has expressed a strong desire to boost defence cooperation with Pakistan, focusing on military training, joint production, and closer strategic ties.

The minister praised the long-standing friendship between the two countries and highlighted opportunities for expanding defence collaboration through joint exercises, training programs, and technology sharing.

He also acknowledged Pakistan’s growing role in the region and said Jakarta is ready to work closely with Islamabad for peace, stability, and mutual growth. Both sides agreed to continue high-level visits and joint defence meetings under the framework of the 2018 Defence Cooperation MoU.

Officials noted that closer military and industrial cooperation would benefit both nations and support regional security goals. Future meetings are expected to take place during defence exhibitions and official exchanges.
