NASIRABAD – At least three police officers were injured when a bomb exploded near a Highway Police vehicle in the Chattar area of Balochistan’s Nasirabad district on Monday, authorities confirmed.
According to police officials, the explosion targeted a patrolling vehicle of the Highway Police on the National Highway. The blast caused significant damage to the vehicle and injured three personnel, who were shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Law enforcement and bomb disposal teams reached the site immediately and cordoned off the area to begin investigations. Initial reports suggest the explosive device was planted along the roadside and detonated remotely.
Security has been tightened in the area, and a search operation has been launched to trace those responsible for the attack. No group has claimed responsibility so far.
Balochistan has seen a surge in militant violence in recent months, with security forces frequently targeted in roadside bombings and ambushes. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to countering terrorism and maintaining order in the province.
