KARACHI – The body of 32-year-old actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali was recovered from her apartment in Ittehad Commercial, DHA Phase VI, on Tuesday, according to Gizri police. The deceased had reportedly been living alone in the flat for the past seven years.

Police officials stated that they were acting on a court order related to an eviction over unpaid rent. When no response was received, the authorities entered the apartment and discovered the body in a decomposed state. The Crime Scene Unit was called to the location, and the body was later shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem examination.

Preliminary Findings

According to South DIG Syed Asad Raza, initial assessments suggest that the body had been lying inside the apartment for nearly two weeks. No immediate signs of foul play were observed, but forensic analysis and toxicology reports are awaited to determine the exact cause of death.

Dr Summaiya Syed, police surgeon at JPMC, confirmed that a medico-legal examination is underway.

Background and Career

Humaira Asghar Ali rose to prominence through her appearance on ARY’s reality show Tamasha Ghar and was also featured in the 2015 film Jalaibee. In addition to her acting and modelling work, she was a certified fitness trainer and maintained a significant presence on social media, with over 700,000 followers on Instagram.

Ongoing Investigation

Police are examining CCTV footage, rental records, and relevant documents. The landlord, who had filed an eviction plea, is also being questioned as part of the inquiry. Authorities have assured that a transparent investigation will be conducted.
