ISLAMABAD – In response to confirmed exam paper leaks during the June 2025 session in Pakistan, Cambridge International has offered affected students the option to appear in free resits during the November 2025 exam series.

An internal investigation by the board revealed that portions of three A-Level papers were compromised prior to the exams. The leaked content involved:

  • One question from Mathematics Paper 12
  • Parts of two questions from Mathematics Paper 42
  • A portion of one question from Computer Science Paper 22

Cambridge has assured students that the leak was partial and that no full question papers were leaked. To maintain fairness, students will be awarded full marks for the compromised questions, and results will be released as scheduled on August 12.

The decision to offer free retakes follows recommendations by the National Assembly Sub-Committee on Education, which had urged the examination board to extend relief measures to Pakistani candidates amid growing public concern.

Officials at Cambridge have reiterated that they are committed to upholding the integrity of the examination system and are taking disciplinary steps against any individuals or centres found responsible for the breach.

Students who feel that the leaks affected their performance can opt for the free resit in November, although it is not mandatory.

The board also acknowledged the anxiety caused by the situation and expressed appreciation to students, parents, and schools for their patience as the investigation progressed.
