KARACHI – United States Consul General Kristin K. Hawkins has said that Pakistan–US relations are stronger than ever and expanding across important areas like trade, education, technology, agriculture, and cultural preservation.
Speaking during a visit to the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), she highlighted that bilateral trade between the two countries had reached nearly $7 billion last year. She invited more American companies to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, especially in IT, e-commerce, tourism, logistics, and workforce development.
Hawkins also noted that several US companies are already listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange and encouraged others to follow suit.
On the cultural front, she praised the US Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation, which has invested over $8.4 million in protecting Pakistan’s heritage—supporting projects like the restoration of Lahore Fort and conservation of Gandhara artifacts.
The Consul General emphasized the importance of people-to-people connections, educational exchange programs, and joint training initiatives as tools to build long-term goodwill between the two countries.
Officials from Pakistan expressed optimism, saying that sectors like renewable energy, health, and agri-tech are ready for deeper cooperation.
