GAZA – Despite renewed diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire, the people of Gaza continue to suffer under relentless Israeli airstrikes. Dozens of Palestinians, including women and children, have been killed in the latest round of attacks as humanitarian conditions deteriorate further.

According to health officials in Gaza, at least 60 civilians lost their lives in northern areas over the past 24 hours amid intensified bombardment. The strikes have continued even as high-level talks are underway between Israeli officials and the United States in Washington to explore a possible temporary truce.

Heavy Civilian Toll and Infrastructure Collapse

Gaza’s medical infrastructure remains in crisis, with hospitals overwhelmed and basic supplies in short supply. Reports indicate that several aid distribution points have come under fire, further complicating relief efforts. More than 56,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed or injured since the conflict escalated.

Water, electricity, and fuel shortages persist, with thousands of families displaced and forced to seek shelter in overcrowded makeshift camps.

Diplomatic Efforts Underway

Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer is currently in Washington for consultations with U.S. officials, amid growing calls for a humanitarian pause. Former U.S. President Donald Trump has also endorsed the possibility of a 60-day ceasefire, contingent on the release of hostages.

However, Hamas leadership has maintained that any ceasefire must include a complete halt to Israeli operations and full withdrawal from occupied areas.

Aid Remains Severely Restricted

While some aid convoys were allowed entry in May following a months-long blockade, the flow of humanitarian assistance remains insufficient to meet the scale of the crisis. Crowding at aid centers has led to tragic incidents, with reports of stampedes and further casualties.

International agencies continue to warn that without an immediate and lasting ceasefire, Gaza faces an unfolding humanitarian catastrophe of unprecedented scale.
