As the French Open enters its final stages, all eyes are on Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner, both aiming for a place in the semi-finals without having dropped a set so far. Djokovic, chasing a record 25th Grand Slam title, will face third seed Alexander Zverev in his record 19th Roland Garros quarter-final. The Serbian legend, now with 100 wins at the tournament, is determined to push further: “101 victories sounds better,” he said.
Zverev, fresh off a walkover win in the last 16, has reached the semi-finals in Paris four times and sees Carlos Alcaraz as the man to beat, with Sinner, Djokovic, and himself close behind.
On the other side of the draw, Australian Open champion Jannik Sinner takes on Kazakhstan’s Alexander Bublik, who called his emotional win over Jack Draper “the best moment of his life.” Sinner holds a 3-1 head-to-head lead over the unseeded Bublik.
In the women’s draw, French wildcard Chloé Boisson, ranked 361st, has become the surprise of the tournament after knocking out third seed Jessica Pegula. She now faces Russian rising star Mirra Andreeva for a historic semifinal spot.
Meanwhile, second seed Coco Gauff will clash with Madison Keys in an all-American quarter-final. Gauff, who lost in the French Open final in 2022, is hoping to make this clay season count after back-to-back final defeats in Madrid and Rome. With 15 clay-court wins this year, the 20-year-old remains confident in her ability to turn matches around.
The women’s semifinals are already heating up with Aryna Sabalenka and defending champion Iga Swiatek through to the final four, and Gauff looking to join them for another shot at Roland Garros glory.
