LAHORE: Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha vowed to keep entertaining fans after leading the team to a dominant 3-0 series win against Bangladesh.
Although Bangladesh is not a top-tier opponent, Pakistan showcased a modern, aggressive white-ball approach that paid off throughout the series. They comfortably defended scores of 201 in the first two matches and chased down 197 with 16 balls remaining in the final game.
This marked Pakistan’s first home T20I series win since December 2021 and their first consecutive 200+ run games in two years. Mohammad Haris’s century in the third match was notable as the first by a non-opener for Pakistan in T20Is.
Salman praised the team’s fearless batting, especially from young players like Hasan Nawaz and Sahibzada Farhan. Haris earned man-of-the-series honors, cementing his place as Pakistan’s new number three.
Salman singled out Haris, Saim Ayub, and Hasan Nawaz as future match-winners under his captaincy. The series was also the first for new white-ball coach Mike Hesson and a stepping stone towards next year’s T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.
Looking ahead, Pakistan faces away series against West Indies and Bangladesh, plus the Asia Cup. Salman emphasized adapting to conditions and maintaining an aggressive “par score” strategy to pressure opponents.
“As long as I’m captain, we’ll play this way,” Salman said confidently. “This is the future of cricket, aggressive, entertaining, and adaptable.”
