Yemen President announces new power-sharing government under Riyadh Agreement
SANAA: Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi has announced the formation of a power-sharing government under the Riyadh Agreement signed with the Southern Transitional Council last year.
The announcement was made on Yemeni state TV last night.
The government consists of 24 portfolios divided equally between the north and south as stipulated in the Agreement.
Saudi Arabia has welcomed the announcement and termed it an important step towards achieving a political solution and ending the crisis.
