Women empowerment to ensure economic progress of country: President
President Dr Arif Alvi says empowerment of women will help ensure economic development of the country.
Addressing members of Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Karachi on Wednesday, he said the government has always consulted various stakeholders before launching development projects in construction industry.
Meanwhile, talking to newly elected office bearers of the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday, the President said the services of journalists are valuable for strengthening democracy in the country.
Later, the members of the newly elected office bearers of the Karachi Press Club have called on President Dr Arif Alvi and Sindh Governor Imran Ismaeel at Governor House Karachi today.
President Dr Arif Alvi congratulated the members of new body.
The matters related to the stability of democracy and establishment of the Islamic welfare state were discussed in the meeting.
Lauding the role of journalists, Dr Arif Alvi said the services of journalists are valuable for the establishment of democracy. He also assured them to resolve their issues.
