Wants to expand business ties with Pakistan: Japan

ISLAMABAD: Japan has expressed interest in importing mango, fish and textile products from Pakistan.

 Japan's Ambassador to Pakistan Kuninori Matsuda expressed this interest in a meeting with Finance Advisor Hafeez Sheikh in Islamabad today.

The Japanese Ambassador said that his country wanted to expand business relations with Pakistan.  He said that arrangements were being made at the ports to facilitate the export of agricultural products.

The Japanese Ambassador said that his country would also assist Pakistan in facilitating the repayment of loans and a memorandum of understanding would be formally signed with Pakistan after initial work on the initiative.

The Finance Adviser briefed the Japanese Ambassador on the state of the economy over the past year and the efforts being made by the government to mitigate the effects of the global coronavirus epidemic.

 He expressed confidence that Pakistan would regain stability and balance in view of the reduction in the number of active patients with corona virus.
