Veteran actress Samina Butt receives financial assistance from CM Punjab
LAHORE : Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has come to the rescue of veteran actress Samina Butt, announcing Rs 100,000 in financial aid as well as a monthly stipend.
CM Buzdar took prompt action after actress Samina Butt, who has graced Pakistani television with her acting for many years, plead about her struggles on social media. Samina Butt was provided a check of Rs 100,000 for financial assistance by the Punjab Chief Minister and she is also being paid a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000.
Taking note of the economic woes of the artists, the government of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has launched a program ‘Artist Khidmat Card’, under which, low-income or impoverished artists are given monthly stipends.
To make this process transparent, funds are distributed to deserving artists through a biometric system.
