UN expresses sorrow over loss due to earthquake in Turkey
NEW YORK: The United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and the damage due to earthquake in Turkey.
In a statement, the Secretary-General spokesman, Stephane Dujarric said the UN chief extended his condolences to the bereaved families and to the governments and people of Turkey and Greece, and wished a speedy recovery of the injured.
Antonio Guterres said the United Nations stands ready to assist Turkey if required.
