UN Chief calls for working collectively to end corruption

NEW YORK: United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for working collectively to end corruption and bribery, warning that Coronavirus crisis has created additional opportunities for this scourge.

In a message on International Anti-Corruption Day being marked on Wednesday, he said the development of vaccines for the virus and treatments have added to the risk of bribery and profiteering.

Antonio Guterres said recovery from the pandemic must include measures to prevent and combat corruption and bribery.
