Trump awards Kuwait Emir with Legion of Merit
WASHINGTON D.C: The US President, Donald Trump has awarded the US Legion of Merit award to Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah.
In a statement, the White House praised the Emir as an unwavering friend and partner to the United States who gave indispensable support to the United States throughout Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and the Defeat-Daesh campaign.
"His tireless mediation of disputes in the Middle East has bridged divides under the most challenging circumstances. The President is very pleased to award this honor to his dear friend, the Amir," the White House said in a statement.
The Kuwaiti Emir's eldest son, Sheikh Nasser Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, received the award on behalf of his father.
