Sindh cabinet accords approval to establish Kiamari district in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh cabinet in its meeting under Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has accorded approval to establish Kiamari district in Karachi by bifurcating district west of the city.

SITE, Baldia, harbour and Maripur sub -divisions will be part of new district.    

Senior member Board of revenue informed the meeting the district west Karachi is biggest ever district of the province as far as population is concerned.

According to the spokesman of chief minister's house some members of the cabinet also proposed to craving out another district from Khairpur.

Sindh Chief Minister on the occasion proposed to name district south in the city after Karachi and other districts in the city be named after prominent places in these districts.

The cabinet requested Trading Corporation of Pakistan to import one point five million metric ton wheat for Sindh and a committee comprising ministers for food, agriculture and information was formed to prepare recommendations for release of wheat.
