KARACHI: Pakistan Stock Exchange above the 98,000 mark on Friday as share prices surged more than 2,000 points in intraday trade
LAHORE: Pakistan’s Shah Hussain Shah has secured a place in this year’s Tokyo Olympics in the -100kg category of judo competition, the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) said on Wednesday.
According to a POA press release, the International Judo Federation (IJF) has informed that Shah has secured his place on continental quota in the July 23-Aug 8 Tokyo Games.
It will be the second time that 28-year-old Shah, the son of Pakistan’s Olympic bronze medallist boxer Shah Hussain, will be participating in the Olympic Games. Shah has clinched medals in Commonwealth and South Asian Games for Pakistan.
With Shah’s inclusion, Pakistan’s participation in athletics, badminton, judo, shooting and swimming events of the Tokyo Olympics has been confirmed.
Meanwhile, POA president retired Lt Gen Syed Arif Hasan has congratulated Shah for securing an Olympic berth for the second consecutive time. Gen Arif paid tribute to his parents who worked real hard to train and support their son
