KARACHI: Pakistan Stock Exchange above the 98,000 mark on Friday as share prices surged more than 2,000 points in intraday trade
KARACHI: Ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has once again turned towards its ally, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM), to get support in the upcoming by-elections.
A delegation of PTI comprising Federal Planning Minister Asad Umar, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and others visited MQM-P’s office in Buhadarabad.
During the meeting, MQM leaders expressed their concerns over not fulfilling the promises made by the PTI government.
Governor Ismail asked the MQM to withdraw its candidate from PS-88 by-elections in support of the PTI, adding: “We will contest the election jointly to beat PPP candidate”.
In response, MQM’s Faisal Sabzwari said that the PTI should withdraw its candidate if it wants to contest election jointly.
Asad Umar replied that Prime Minister Imran Khan wants MQM to support the PTI in the by-polls.
Ismail warned that both parties will suffer it they did not join hands in the by-polls.
