PM directs to strictly implement SOPs on Eid-ul-Adha to prevent COVID19 spread

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to strictly implement precautionary measures and standard operating procedure on the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha to prevent spread of the Coronavirus.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad today (Wednesday) to review COVID-19 situation in the country, he also directed to hold sessions of the National Command and Operation Centre at provincial capitals to make the administrative measures more effective through cooperation and coordination with the provincial governments.

The Prime Minister was briefed about latest situation of Coronavirus pandemic in the country, positive results of the smart lockdown strategy, and the strategy to check the spread of virus during Eid-ul-Adha and Muharram.

The Prime Minister was told that smart lockdowns enforced at 227 locations in 30 cities across the country, so far, have yielded positive results.

The meeting was apprised about the ineffectiveness of complete lockdown strategy implement in regional countries as death ratio increased there after the lockdown was lifted for economic concerns.

Imran Khan was briefed that burden on hospitals has decreased with reduced number of Corona cases.

The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over positive results of efforts aimed at stemming the pandemic.
