SIALKOT: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday said that parliament was most appropriate place for political dialogue, adding that the government had never withdrawn from national dialogue.
Talking to journalists in Sialkot, the premier said that the government was ready to hold discussion on every issue, besides reiterating that NRO-like concession will not be given to the opposition.
He said that opposition leaders wanted end to corruption cases, which were made during the tenure of their own government. He said that former finance minister Ishaq Dar, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s sons and others fled the country during the PML-N tenure.
He said that the PTI government could not withdraw the graft cases.
Lashing out at the predecessors, the prime minister said that every sector was making losses when the PTI came into power. “Our biggest victory was to save country from being bankrupt,” he said.
Talking about PDM’s rallies, he said that no-confidence move was a constitutional way to send a government packing.
He reiterated that the government will hold elections if opposition lawmakers resigns from the assemblies.
The premier said that industries were badly affected across the world due to coronavirus pandemic, adding that India’s economy witnessed ten percent decline due to health crisis.
He highlighted that Pakistan’s economy was growing despite tough times.
PDM, an alliance of the opposition parties, is holding rallies in different cities to oust the PTI government over election rigging and poor governance.
The government, however, has been rejecting the claims.
Recently, the PDM and government have locked horns over former’s public gathering in Lahore amid spike in coronavirus cases.
The opposition lawmakers have started submitting their resignations to their party heads on the call of PDM.
