Palestinian parties agree on mechanism for upcoming legislative, presidential elections

CAIRO: Palestinian factions including Fatah and Hamas have agreed on the mechanisms for upcoming legislative and presidential elections.

A joint statement at the end of two-day session of different Palestinian factions in Cairo Egypt, said that all Palestinian factions pledged to abide by timetable for long-delayed balloting and respect and accept the results.

The parliamentary and presidential polls set for May 22 and July 31 respectively are the first in 15 years.
