Pakistan’s First Female Sikh Journalist nominated for UK Award

LONDON: British awards for 2 Pakistanis, including the first Sikh female journalist

Manmeet Kaur, along with another Pakistani Sikh youth journalis  Manjot Singh from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)  Pakistan has been nominated for the top award by a British international organization. Manmeet Kaur hails from Peshawar, the capital of KP, and works as a reporter for the private TV channel Hum News.

Manmeet Kaur age 25,was honored to become the first Sikh female reporter in 2018. She has also won several national awards for her reporting.

While his role as a journalist has been instrumental in highlighting the problems of minority communities, she has also focused on other social issues.

Manmeet Kaur has been nominated by the International Sikh Religious Organization in the UK (The Sikh Group) for the 100 Most Influential Sikhs of 30 Years Award for her journalistic services and contribution to society.

The two nominated Pakistani youths will be given the Influential Sikh Personality Award next year.
