Pakistan rejects India’s allegations about Pakistan’s treatment of its minorities

Pakistan has categorically rejected India’s sweeping allegations about Pakistan’s treatment of its minorities and involvement in terrorism, and called New Delhi the principal sponsor, financier and abettor of state terrorism.

First Secretary at Pakistan Mission to the United Nations in Geneva Junaid Suleman told the UN Human Rights Council during its 48th session that Islamabad has presented concrete evidence in the recent dossier on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir that India is providing patronage to ISIS and running training camps.

He was responding to his Indian counterpart Pawan Badhe who, in response to Pakistan Ambassador Khalil Hashmi’s statement, had attacked Pakistan’s human rights record.

Ambassador Hashmi had warned in his statement that the Indian state machinery has turned into a “veritable arm of oppression” in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Suleman, the Pakistani diplomat, said India is stonewalling global scrutiny of its widely documented human rights crimes in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and against its own minorities.
