The TOLO news, an Afghan news channel and website, while quoting sources, reported that the JUI-F leader met Maulvi Akhundzada in Kandahar on Wednesday morning.

“The meeting was held only between Maulana Fazlur Rehman and the leader of the Islamic Emirate,” it reported.

TOLOnews also said Afghan officials had not yet commented on the meeting.

He had met the prime minister of Afghanistan, deputy prime minister, foreign minister and other Afghan leaders following his arrival in Kabul on Sunday. Rehman, as the head of a delegation comprising his party leaders, is on a mission to mend deteriorated relations between Pakistan Afghanistan.
