NEW DELHI: In India, main opposition party Congress has asked the Modi government to constitute a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) to probe the 'Chatgate' involving Arnab Goswami and former head of Broadcast Audience Research Council Partho Dasgupta.

In a tweet, former minister for Information and broadcasting Manish Tewari said it points towards a direct linkage between so-called Balakot air strikes and 2019 general elections.

He raised the question whether national security was milked for electoral purposes.

Another Congress veteran and former home minister Chidambaram in a tweet also raised the point that how did a journalist knew about so-called Balakot air strikes three days before.
