ISLAMABAD: The versatile actors from different genres of showbiz industry were honoured with civil awards in recognition for their services to the country on Pakistan Day.
President Dr Arif Alvi gave the prestigious awards to the personalities.
Actor Humayun Saeed, actress Sakina Samo, singer Ali Zafar and religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel were given Pride of Performance Award.
Veteran actors Bushra Ansari and Talat Hussain received the Sitara-i-Imtiaz Award while Nishan-i-Imtiaz Award was presented to painter Sadequain Naqvi, singer Abida Perveen and late poet Ahmed Faraz.
Civil Awards were also conferred upon actress Resham, producer and drama writer Sultana Siddiqui, cartoonist Syed Farooq Qaiser (Uncle Sargam), actors Javed Mansoor Babar and Habib-ur-Rehman Panerai.
