KARACHI: Pakistan Stock Exchange above the 98,000 mark on Friday as share prices surged more than 2,000 points in intraday trade
ISLAMABAD: A musical programme titled "Aahang-e-Sufiana" was held at the National Broadcasting House, Islamabad on Friday.
Renowned Singer Sanam Marvi sang various songs, including Sufi Kalam, enthralling the audience with her melodious voice.
A large number of audience including Information & Broadcasting Secretary, Ms. Shahera Shahid, Radio Pakistan Director General Ms. Ambreen Jan, Directors of Finance, Engineering and Programs of the PBC, and staff of the organization enjoyed the concert.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary of Information and Broadcasting Shahera Shahid said the government will continue to support the artists and promote art and culture in the country.
She said it is our duty to give due recognition and appreciation to artists of the country so that they could fully demonstrate their capabilities.
Earlier, in her opening remarks, Radio Pakistan DG Ambreen Jan said music has a strong impact on behavior of people belonging to all walks of life.
She said, Radio Pakistan has always encouraged voices and talent from all segments of the society. The DG said, the Radio Pakistan is the premier organization in introducing leading voices in the sphere of music in Pakistan.
