Government decides to convene parliament again

ISLAMABAD : The government has decided to convene a session of Parliament once again. A summary will be sent to the President today to convene the session. 

According to details , Dr. Babar Awan contacted Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Speaker of the National Assembly on the issue of constitutionally completing the day of proceedings of Parliament.  The meeting would be convened on June 5 at 4 pm.

Adviser to Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs said that it would be the longest marathon meeting in the history of Pakistan which would continue from June 5 to August 13, during which the budget would come and legislation would be enacted.

According to Dr Babar Awan, the issue of amending the Anti-Money Laundering Act will also be considered in the meeting.

He added that there was no question of any constitutional vacuum or shortcoming in the system.
