Gen Bajwa reiterates commitment to global peace


RAWALPINDI: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in his message on the occasion of International Day of Peace Missions said that Pakistan's commitment to world peace under the UN Charter is unshakable.

In a message issued on the International Day of Peace Missions, the Army Chief said that on this day, Pakistan commemorates Pakistan commemorates ‘Spirit of Sacrifice’ of our valiant Peacekeepers, who continue to serve humanity in challenging & restive regions of the World. “Sense of Purpose and Commitment of Pakistan towards global peace under UN Charter remains unflinching” 

Pakistan has sent women to peace and security operations, and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres also acknowledges the sacrifices made for Pakistan's peacekeeping mission.

It may be recalled that the US Army had also paid tribute to a female Pakistan Army officer involved in the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission in Congo.
