UNITED STATES – The infamous Annabelle doll, known from The Conjuring films and paranormal folklore, is currently touring the United States as part of the “Devils on the Run” exhibition, organised by the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR). The tour, which began in early May, has already visited several cities, drawing sold-out crowds and generating widespread online attention.
Tour Stops and Public Reaction
So far, Annabelle has appeared at historically significant venues, including the West Virginia State Penitentiary and the Black Swan Inn in San Antonio, Texas. Most recently, the doll spent three days in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, with a TikTok video from the event becoming a viral hit, attracting over 3 million views.
Investigator’s Death Sparks Intrigue
The tour has been tinged with tragedy following the sudden death of lead paranormal investigator Dan Rivera during the Gettysburg stop. Rivera, aged 54 and a U.S. Army veteran, was found deceased in his hotel room. Official reports state there were no signs of foul play, and a full autopsy is pending. NESPR has confirmed that, despite the tragedy, the tour will continue in honour of Rivera’s memory.
Security and Historical Protocols Emphasised
Organisers assure the public that Annabelle remains secure and handled with care. At each venue, she is displayed in a protective glass case, accompanied by security personnel and ritual safeguards—including prayers and holy symbols—to ensure safety and respect for the lore.
Next Stops Scheduled
The exhibition will continue throughout the summer, with upcoming appearances planned in Rock Island, Illinois, and Augusta, Maine, before concluding in September. NESPR emphasises the tour’s intention to educate and preserve a piece of paranormal history, even as debate over the doll’s authenticity continues.
