LAHORE – A local court in Lahore has granted a four-day extension to the physical remand of YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman—widely known as Ducky Bhai—amid an ongoing investigation into allegations of promoting online gambling applications via his social media channels.
Rehman was initially arrested earlier this week at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport and held under a two-day remand for further questioning. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), leading the inquiry, requested an extended remand citing his alleged involvement in an international gambling network. The court, after reviewing arguments, approved the extension of his custody until August 23.
The case was registered on August 17 under multiple sections of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, including electronic forgery, fraud, spamming, and spoofing, along with charges under the Pakistan Penal Code for cheating and offering illicit prizes in trade. The FIR mentions that Rehman promoted gambling apps such as Binomo and 1xBet through nearly 27 videos on his YouTube channel; several of those videos are no longer available.
Investigators have reported recovery of digital evidence, including WhatsApp communications and payment records, which tie Rehman to the promotion of betting platforms. Authorities further allege that he acted as a country manager for one such app without legal authorization or oversight by regulatory bodies.
Rehman’s lawyer opposed the extension, arguing against prolonged detention. The court, however, deemed the extended remand necessary for the NCCIA to continue its investigation and barred his release until the next hearing.
