LOS ANGELES – Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2 offers a clear explanation for the sudden absence of Xavier Thorpe, the character once portrayed by Percy Hynes White. The narrative confirms Xavier was transferred from Nevermore Academy to Reichenbach Academy in Switzerland.
In the opening episode, Principal Dort informs Wednesday that Xavier’s father pulled him from Nevermore after he was wrongly accused of a high-profile incident. The character later sends a farewell letter and a cryptic painting to Wednesday, suggesting his psychic vision may still influence the unfolding mystery. The letter reads: “Consider this my goodbye gift… the image flashed in my head… I’m sure it’s connected to you.”
White will not appear in Season 2 following serious allegations made in early 2023, which he has denied and characterised as a “campaign of misinformation.” Netflix and the show’s creators did not provide a formal explanation for his exit, but it coincided with broader cast changes and a shift toward darker, non-romantic storylines.
The show also introduces several new cast members this season, including prominent names while shifting Wednesday’s story away from a romantic arc and toward supernatural mysteries at Nevermore.
