Karachi, Pakistan – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi arrived in Karachi on Friday to commence a three-day visit to Sindh, a move being viewed as part of broader political outreach and engagement across the province.
According to party sources, the KP chief minister’s visit aims to strengthen political coordination, connect with party workers, and engage with various segments of society during his stay in Karachi and later Hyderabad. Upon arrival, Afridi was received by senior party leaders and workers, who welcomed him with slogans and expressions of support.
During his stay in Karachi, Afridi is scheduled to hold meetings with party leadership, legal professionals, business representatives and members of civil society, alongside interactions with media personnel. The visit is also expected to include public outreach activities as part of efforts to mobilise supporters and convey the party leadership’s message to the people of Sindh.
A key highlight of the visit is a planned gathering at Mazar-e-Quaid, where Afridi is expected to address supporters. Party officials have termed the gathering an important show of political strength and public engagement in the provincial capital. However, some planned engagements have reportedly faced logistical and administrative challenges, including the cancellation of certain meetings and restrictions on specific venues.
Sources further indicate that the KP chief minister may also hold consultative meetings with Sindh government officials, focusing on inter-provincial coordination, governance matters and issues of mutual interest, though no official confirmation has been issued regarding a formal meeting with Sindh’s chief minister.
Following his Karachi engagements, Afridi will travel to Hyderabad, where his programme includes meetings with members of the legal fraternity, journalists, and local stakeholders. The visit is expected to conclude with discussions aimed at expanding political outreach and strengthening organisational presence across Sindh.
Political observers note that the visit comes at a time of heightened political activity nationwide and is being closely watched for its potential impact on inter-provincial politics and party mobilisation efforts. Afridi’s Sindh tour is seen as an attempt to reinforce political messaging while building momentum beyond Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
