GLOBAL – Netflix’s hit series Wednesday returns today, August 6, with Part 1 of its second season, following the smash success of its debut season in 2022.
Season 1 introduced Wednesday Addams, portrayed by Jenna Ortega, as she enrolls at Nevermore Academy and uncovers a murder mystery tied to her psychic abilities and ancestral legacy. The finale left several villains alive and hinted at deeper threats, setting the stage for the darker, more personal stakes taking shape in Season 2.
Set to stream in two parts—with Episodes 1–4 launching on August 6 and Episodes 5–8 on September 3—the new season sees Wednesday confronting a stalker, exploring her powers without ancestral guidance, and navigating escalating family drama. Series regulars such as Morticia, Gomez, Uncle Fester, Enid, Tyler, and Eugene return with expanded roles. New additions include the mysterious music teacher Rosaline Rotwood (Lady Gaga), Principal Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi), and psychiatrist Dr. Fairburn (Thandiwe Newton).
Returning to the creative helm, Tim Burton directs several episodes in Season 2, with showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar continuing the gothic mystery tone. Jenna Ortega also joins the team as a producer, deepening her creative involvement this season. Fans can expect the familiar blend of macabre humor, supernatural clues, and schoolyard intrigue set against Nevermore’s darkly whimsical backdrop.
