PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Sunday discounted the oath-taking ceremony of the new Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, adding that attending the programme would have been a waste of time.
It is worth noting that both the chief minister and governor hail from the Dera Ismail Khan district of the province. They have contested the elections from the same constituency of the district in the southern belt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“We do not accept the Form-47 government and its illegally notified governor does not hold importance for us,” Gandapur said in an interview.
Talking to reporters after taking oath, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi had said that the provincial cabinet members and chief minister had been invited to the ceremony. “The chief minister may have not attended the ceremony due to his busy schedule,” he had said.
Appointment of Faisal Kundi of PPP as governor is part of the power-sharing agreement reached between the PPP and PMLN to form a coalition government.
