BUDAPEST – Max Verstappen has confirmed that he will continue racing with Red Bull Racing for the 2026 Formula One season, putting an end to months of speculation regarding a potential move to rival teams.
The four-time world champion, currently in the top tier of the championship standings, dismissed ongoing rumors during a media session ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix. He stated that his future with the team was never in doubt and emphasized his commitment to helping Red Bull prepare for the upcoming regulatory changes in the sport.
Verstappen’s contract with Red Bull runs until 2028, and his confirmation provides stability to the team as it undergoes leadership changes and gears up for its first in-house power unit project in 2026. He also expressed confidence in the team’s new management structure following the mid-season changes in leadership, praising the technical vision guiding the team forward.
Meanwhile, other teams, including Mercedes, have largely finalized their driver lineups for 2026. Industry analysts believe Verstappen’s decision reflects trust in Red Bull’s ability to remain competitive under the new regulations and his pivotal role in shaping future car development.
