ISLAMABAD/ABU DHABI – In a major diplomatic development, the United Arab Emirates has officially implemented a visa waiver for Pakistani diplomatic and official passport holders, effective July 25, 2025.
The reciprocal agreement — signed during the 12th Pakistan–UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) in Abu Dhabi on June 24 — also grants UAE officials visa-free entry into Pakistan, reinforcing bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the news, highlighting that the move will significantly ease official travel and enhance diplomatic coordination. The waiver removes prior entry barriers and complements reciprocal facilities already in place at Pakistani airports.
The UAE is among Pakistan’s top trade, investment, and remittance partners, and this facilitation is expected to further boost high-level engagements and government-to-government collaboration.
