Gaza City, Palestine: Israeli forces have intensified their assault on Gaza, flattening two more residential high-rises and killing at least 46 Palestinians in the latest round of airstrikes. The devastation marks one of the deadliest episodes in recent days, leaving families homeless and deepening the humanitarian crisis.
According to reports, the Soussi Tower, a 15-storey residential building in Tal al-Hawa, was destroyed after residents were given barely 20 minutes to evacuate. A day later, the Al-Ru’ya Tower, a seven-storey complex housing dozens of families, was also targeted and razed to the ground. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as families rushed to flee with children and elderly members, many forced to abandon everything behind.
Health officials in Gaza confirmed that Sunday’s strikes alone claimed 46 lives, while many more were left injured or trapped under debris. The destruction was not limited to towers—schools and makeshift shelters were also hit, displacing already vulnerable civilians.
The escalation comes as Israel continues to urge civilians to evacuate to so-called “safe zones” in southern Gaza. However, reports suggest those areas are also under attack, leaving residents with no secure refuge. Meanwhile, regional tensions widened after Yemen’s Houthi rebels struck Israel’s Ramon Airport with a drone attack, briefly disrupting operations and fueling fears of a broader conflict.
Human rights groups have condemned the strikes as collective punishment, warning that Gaza’s fragile humanitarian situation is being pushed to the brink. With food shortages, crumbling healthcare facilities, and thousands displaced, international observers fear the crisis could spiral further if hostilities do not cease.
