ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN – Pakistan on Friday conferred the Nishan-e-Imtiaz (Military) on General Michael Erik Kurilla, Commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), in a formal ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The award was presented by President Asif Ali Zardari in recognition of Gen Kurilla’s efforts to strengthen defence cooperation and regional stability between Pakistan and the United States. A contingent of the armed forces also presented a guard of honour during the ceremony.
Gen Kurilla’s visit comes amid broader engagements on regional security, as Islamabad and Washington continue to coordinate on counterterrorism and defence ties through multilateral platforms and high-level meetings.
