ISLAMABAD – China’s Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday to participate in the sixth round of the Strategic Dialogue between Beijing and Islamabad—a key diplomatic platform designed to deepen bilateral cooperation across security, economic, and political domains.
Wang Yi’s visit underscores the ongoing commitment of both countries to reinforce their longstanding “all-weather” partnership. Pakistani authorities have stated that this year’s dialogue will prioritise enhanced joint action in areas such as regional peace, counterterrorism, infrastructure development, and trade facilitation.
The Chinese Foreign Minister is scheduled to meet with Pakistan’s leadership, including the foreign and prime ministers, signalling the importance Islamabad places on aligning its foreign policy with Beijing’s vision for regional integration under the Belt and Road Initiative framework. The meetings aim to streamline cooperation on energy corridors, Special Economic Zones, and industrial partnerships.
Foreign policy analysts view this session as critical, noting rising global uncertainty and regional realignments. Strengthening the strategic dialogue serves as a demonstration of shared resolve between the two countries amid shifting geopolitical dynamics.
