KARACHI, PAKISTAN – The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) brought innovation to center stage with its inaugural TechNova 2025, a full-scale tech-centric competition that drew over 500 participants and an enthusiastic crowd of more than 3,000 attendees.
Organised by IoBM’s College of Computer Science in collaboration with its IEEE student branch, the event featured a wide array of competitions—ranging from speed programming, prompt engineering, and web/logo design, to final-year project showcases, startup pitches, and the interactive ‘Maths Mania’ contest.
Top performers were awarded cash prizes up to Rs 50,000, recognizing outstanding innovation and problem-solving. One notable pitch, GreenBite, which proposed sustainable, oil-free daily meals, stood out for both creativity and investor attention.
An AI symposium also took place during the event, drawing prominent voices from academia and the tech industry. Speakers included Jibran Jamshed of Microsoft Pakistan, Brig. Musharraf Khan of Telec Group, and Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, who shared insights on artificial intelligence and its growing role in Pakistan’s academic and industrial future.
Student organiser Muhammad Anas remarked, “TechNova marks a turning point for IoBM—we’ve never seen this level of tech engagement before.”
The event not only celebrated technological creativity but also paved the way for larger-scale innovation platforms in the country’s education sector.
