DAMASCUS – A deadly suicide bombing targeted a church in the Syrian city of Homs on Sunday, killing over 50 people and injuring dozens more. The attack occurred during Sunday prayers, sending shockwaves through the local Christian community.

The bomber detonated explosives at the entrance of the Mar Taqla church, a well-known place of worship in the area. Many victims were families attending the service. Emergency responders rushed the wounded to nearby hospitals.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but officials suspect militant extremist factions operating in the region. This incident adds to the rising sectarian violence amid Syria’s prolonged conflict.
