AMMAN: In a significant display of diplomatic camaraderie, King Abdullah II of Jordan lauded Pakistan’s military for its vital contribution to peace and stability across the region during his meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, on October 27.
The discussions, held in Amman, centered on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation, intelligence sharing, and joint efforts to counter regional security challenges. The Jordanian monarch commended the Pakistan Army’s professionalism and unwavering commitment to maintaining regional harmony, acknowledging Islamabad’s constructive role in fostering stability in both the Middle East and South Asia.
General Munir conveyed warm regards from Pakistan’s government, military, and people to the Jordanian leadership, reaffirming Islamabad’s desire to deepen strategic collaboration. During his visit, the COAS also called on senior officials at the General Headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces, where both sides underscored their longstanding military partnership rooted in mutual respect and brotherhood.
This meeting marks a continuation of the historically close Pakistan–Jordan defence relationship, characterized by decades of joint training programs, high-level visits, and strategic alignment on regional security matters. Analysts view the King’s recognition as a diplomatic endorsement of Pakistan’s stabilizing influence and its growing footprint in regional military cooperation.
