ISLAMABAD – Pakistan – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed on a two-day official visit to Azerbaijan on Friday, accepting an invitation from President Ilham Aliyev to attend the 5th-anniversary celebrations of the nation’s Victory Day.
During his stay, the premier is slated to meet with President Aliyev and engage in high-level discussions covering trade, investment, energy, defence, and regional connectivity. The visit emphasises the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, rooted in shared history, faith and strategic interests.
The Foreign Office underscored that the trip marks Pakistan’s steadfast support for Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and signals intent to deepen mutual cooperation across diverse sectors. With fresh diplomatic impetus, both countries are poised to explore new avenues of collaboration beyond traditional frameworks.
