ISLAMABAD – Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has come down hard on the opposition’s narrative, branding it as nothing more than a pack of lies and calculated deceit. Speaking at a press conference, he claimed the PTI-led alliance under Tehreek-i-Tahafuze Pakistan is using misinformation to mislead the public and undermine national progress.
Tarar accused the PTI of painting a false economic picture at a time when Pakistan is seeing signs of recovery, including a current account surplus, rising foreign reserves, and improved inflation and petrol rates under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.
He also dismissed criticism surrounding the May 9 trials, stating that the government is acting on solid evidence and that the opposition is simply trying to derail accountability efforts.
Furthermore, Tarar questioned PTI leader Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar’s sudden wealth, challenging him to explain the source of his assets. He contrasted the government’s growing international ties—including an upcoming state visit from Iran’s President—with the opposition’s “chaos narrative.”
