Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday demanded an immediate meeting between party founder Imran Khan and his family amid reports that the former prime minister had been taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
In a statement, the party expressed concern over Imran Khan’s health and said that conflicting reports regarding his condition had raised serious questions. PTI leaders stressed that his family had a legal and moral right to be informed about his wellbeing and to meet him without unnecessary restrictions.
The party said that despite repeated requests, family members were not being granted access, adding that transparency regarding Imran Khan’s medical condition was essential. PTI warned that denying family visits would only fuel speculation and anxiety among supporters.
PTI officials further stated that the former premier had previously complained about health issues while in custody and that timely medical care and regular family contact were necessary to safeguard his rights. The party urged authorities to ensure that due process and humanitarian considerations were upheld.
Meanwhile, officials have not issued a detailed statement regarding the reports of Imran Khan being shifted to hospital, leaving uncertainty over his current condition. The situation continues to draw political attention, with calls for clarity growing louder.
