ISLAMABAD — On October 20, 2025, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended warm Diwali greetings to Pakistan’s Hindu community, underscoring the government’s dedication to safeguarding minority rights and promoting interfaith harmony.
President Zardari highlighted that Diwali represents the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. He reaffirmed that the Constitution guarantees equal rights and freedom of religion for all citizens, reflecting the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The President also appreciated the contributions of the Hindu community in education, commerce, and public service.
Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his heartfelt greetings to Hindus across Pakistan and the world, expressing hope that the festival would foster harmony, peace, and shared prosperity. He emphasized that the spirit of Diwali inspires collective efforts to combat intolerance and inequality.
Additionally, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori joined in extending greetings, highlighting the importance of unity and interfaith understanding in the country.
