ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged regional nations to enhance collaboration in trade, connectivity, and economic development, describing it as a true “win–win proposition” that promises shared progress and prosperity for all.
Addressing the Regional Transport Ministers’ Conference in Islamabad, the premier highlighted Pakistan’s unique geographic position as a bridge between South Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and China, making it an essential hub for regional integration. He emphasized that Pakistan’s current policies are designed to promote mutual economic growth through efficient trade routes, infrastructure linkages, and investment-driven cooperation.
Shehbaz Sharif stated that meaningful partnerships in transport, energy, technology, and logistics can unlock massive potential for sustainable development. “When our economies move together, our people prosper, and our region strengthens,” he remarked, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to advancing projects that bind nations economically and strategically.
Citing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a model of successful collaboration, the prime minister noted that Pakistan is now working to expand its connectivity vision to the wider region. He stressed that regional cooperation should focus on practical frameworks—harmonizing trade regulations, improving transport systems, and mobilizing joint investments to achieve lasting progress.
The conference concluded with a renewed sense of unity among participating nations, who pledged to work collectively toward a more connected, prosperous, and resilient regional economy — with Pakistan at its core.
