SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, BELGIUM – Oscar Piastri delivered a commanding performance at the rain-affected Belgian Grand Prix 2025, securing a sensational victory for McLaren after a lengthy weather delay.
The race, delayed by over 80 minutes due to heavy downpours at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, resumed under a rolling start. Piastri wasted no time overtaking pole-sitter and teammate Lando Norris and maintained a steady lead, crossing the finish line 3.4 seconds ahead—marking McLaren’s sixth one-two finish of the season.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc completed the podium, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished fourth. Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli claimed fifth, and Lewis Hamilton staged an impressive comeback drive, surging from 18th to 7th and earning “Driver of the Day” honours.
The result catapults Piastri to the top of the drivers’ standings with a 16-point lead and underscores McLaren’s growing dominance in the 2025 Formula One season.
